LIGHTING TORCHES, LIFTING SPIRITS: NBSC IGNITES INTRAMS 2025
A vibrant and energetic atmosphere filled the campus of Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) earlier today as the college officially launched the much-anticipated Intramurals 2025. The event was held in front of the Student Welfare and Development Center (SWDC), where students, faculty, and staff gathered in full support of the annual sports festivities.
Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, CESE, SUC President I, set the tone for the occasion with an inspiring message, urging participants to remember that “champions aren’t made by victory alone.” She emphasized the importance of continuous self-improvement and dedication, challenging everyone to push beyond their limits throughout the competition.
The opening ceremony began with the unfurling of banners, signaling the start of a celebration centered on sportsmanship, teamwork, and school pride. The traditional lighting of the torch then took place, symbolizing the enduring spirit of camaraderie and athleticism that defines the Intrams season.
Ms. Grace P. Quiblat, MAED, Head of the Sports and Athletics Office (SAO) and PATHFIT Coordinator, led the Oath of Sportsmanship. The athletes, along with the event’s officials, swore to uphold the values of fair play, respect, and integrity throughout the games, ensuring that the spirit of sportsmanship remains at the heart of the celebration.
To further energize the crowd, a lively Zumba session was held, drawing both students and staff to join in the fun while promoting fitness and well-being. The marching band and majorettes then led the parade, followed by the College executives, academic heads, faculty members, program heads from the three institutes, students, and facilitators—all united in celebration of the event.
Various performances, including the Bench Cheering Competition and Field Demonstration, were also showcased at the Manolo Fortich Municipal Gymnasium—adding color, energy, and school pride to the opening morning’s festivities.
The day’s opening highlights emphasized not only the spirit of competition but also the strong sense of collaboration and community within the NBSC family. As the Intrams continue in the coming days, NBSC proudly celebrates not just athletic excellence but the values of unity, discipline, and holistic student development.
